My background

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who graduated with my Master of Social Work from The University of Texas at Arlington. I have a Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas Tech University. I am a lifetime certified teacher for the state of Texas in elementary education and special education. I started my career as a teacher at Arlington ISD. After teaching and raising children as a stay-at-home mom, I received my LMSW and worked as a nursing home Director of Social Services. I have also worked as a clinical liaison for several psychiatric hospitals and mental health clinics in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Most recently I provided counseling for residents of long-term care.

My view on counseling

I am passionate about working with clients to feel welcome, understood, and safe in a nurturing therapeutic relationship. I am honored to support others in navigating their challenges and coping with daily life. I have worked with various populations and ages of people in my various work roles and enjoy working with adults, older adults, and adolescents.

I have counseled those dealing with grief, depression, anxiety, family challenges, and life challenges. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, Reminiscence therapy, Problem-solving, and mindfulness, as well as other therapeutic modalities that best support my clients.

I believe counseling is person-centered in emotional acceptance and development, increasing self-awareness, improving coping mechanisms, and overcoming challenges to create a balanced, happier life. I am LGBTQ+ and culturally affirming. I will provide an encouraging, non-judgmental, confidential space to process your concerns and work on your healing and coping.
