My background

I am a licensed Masters Level Social Worker in the State of Texas. I received my Bachelors in Social Work from Tarleton State University and my Masters in Social Work from The University of Texas in Arlington.
I began my professional career working with survivors of abuse and crime through a rape and crisis center and child advocay center. I have 10 years of experience working in school settings, behavioral health organizations, and non-profit organizations.
I am a bilingual counselor, offering services in both Spanish and English. I have experience providing individual, couples, and group therapy. I am trained in EMDR and TF-CBT as treatment interventions.

Soy una trabajadora social de nivel de Maestría con licencia en el estado de Texas. Recibí mi Licenciatura en Trabajo Social de Tarleton State University y mi Maestría en Trabajo Social de The University of Texas in Arlington.
Comencé mi carrera profesional trabajando con sobrevivientes de abuso y crimenes a través de un centro de violación y crisis y un centro de defensa infantil. Tengo 10 años de experiencia trabajando en entornos escolares, organizaciones de salud conductual y organizaciones sin fines de lucro.

My view on counseling

I have a passion for mental health and the adventure that comes along with healing. My goal is to raise awareness about mental health and the importance of recognizing and processing through our traumas. I strive to break the stigma that still lingers around mental health and healing.
I am dedicated to helping individuals find the courage and strength within themself in order to overcome life's challenges. I believe in meeting my clients wherever they are in their process of healing. My goal is to be supportive and encouraging of my clients as they navigate through their healing journey. I strive to build a safe space where my clients feel comfortable to express their genuine selves, their most honest thoughts, and their greatest goals.

When working with my clients I encourage self-reflecting, self-growth, self-acceptance, self-love, positive affirmation, healthy coping skills, and self-empowerment. Some techniques that I incorporate in practice include grounding techniques, deep breathing, muscle relaxation, and mindfulness.

Tengo una pasión por la salud mental y la aventura que viene junto con la sanación. Mi objetivo es crear conciencia sobre la salud mental y la importancia de reconocer y procesar nuestros traumas. Me esfuerzo por romper el estigma que aún persiste en torno a la salud mental y la sanción.
Me dedico a ayudar a las personas a encontrar el valor y la fuerza dentro de sí mismas para superar los desafíos de la vida. Creo en encontrarme con mis clientes dondequiera que estén en su proceso de sanción. Mi objetivo es apoyar y alentar a mis clientes mientras navegan a través de su viaje de sanción. Me esfuerzo por construir un espacio seguro donde mis clientes se sientan cómodos para expresar su ser genuino, sus pensamientos más honestos y sus mayores metas.

Cuando trabajo con mis clientes, aliento autorreflexión, crecimiento personal, autoaceptación, amor propio, afirmación positiva, afrontamientos saludables y el autoempoderamiento. Algunas técnicas que incorporó en la práctica incluyen técnicas de conexión a tierra, respiración profunda, relajación muscular y atención plena.
