My background
I am Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern (LCDC-Intern)
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of California, San Diego. While studying at UCSD, I took every substance abuse and mental health course offered with the hopes of working in the mental health field, as well as different science courses to gain a better understanding of the chemical workings of the brain.
I worked with Dr. George Koob, the current Director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), for a year conducting research in his lab on alcoholism and addiction.
I then enrolled at the University of Texas at Arlington to earn my Master’s in Social Work and graduated with honors.
My view on counseling
I have worked in all levels of care for substance abuse (psychiatric hospitals, inpatient and outpatient facilities).
I incorporate an understanding of other aftercare resources such as sober living and recovery groups.
I am knowledgeable in different treatment modalities and hopes to continue helping recovering addicts and their families find their true selves
My specialties
